The Blacklisted Barcodes feature allows you to block a patron from making a museum pass reservation. This feature is available to clients who have patron authentication.

  • Login to TixKeeper as an ADMIN editor and go to the Admin Page
  • At the bottom of the Admin Page, Click GO in the BLACKLISTED BARCODES section
  • Click ADD NEW BLACKLISTED BARCODE

Value -  Enter the barcode you want TixKeeper to block

Optional Message to Patron - This is the text that will display to the blocked patron after she clicks the REQUEST PASS button and enters her barcode. This field has a 50-character limit

Blacklist End Date - You have the option of adding an expiration date for the blacklisted barcode. What are Pass Groups? How can I use this feature to limit reservations within a window of days?
+

A pass group in TixKeeper is a means of defining a collection of passes for the purpose of limiting reservations within the group. For example, because your Children's Museum passes are so popular, you might want to say that your users can only reserve 1 of them in any 30 day period.

To use this feature, you enter group configuration data as part of the configuration of each of the passes in the group.  When a user has completed a reservation request form, TixKeeper will look at any other passes that have the same Group Name and count up the number of existing reservations and the number allowed.  If the new reservation would exceed the number allowed, it is rejected.

Please ask us to enable this setting for you, if it isn't already enabled in your account.

Pass Group Name

This is the name of the group. You will enter this same name as part of the configuration of each of the passes in the group. TixKeeper will give you a list of the existing Group Names to make it easy to keep them straight. Always begin your group name with your organization code.

Pass Group Window Days

This feature allows you to specify the size of the Window for which you are concerned about controlling the reservations.  For example, if you only want to allow registration for a Children's Museum pass once every 30 days you would enter 30 in this field.

Pass Group Window Max

This is the number of reservations that can be made when a particular user is requesting a pass that is a member of the Group Name.
