This Mad Science of Greater Boston workshop for ages 3-5 explores the science of optics, refraction, and the biology associated with sight. The camera obscura and Mad Science periscope will delight the children as they test out these curious objects. The children will have fun fooling their eyes with a variety of optical illusions: some old favorites like candlestick or the two faces, some new like Einstein’s funny face. Spinning disks create surprising visuals to amuse and bemuse curious children! Each child will take home a small magnifying glass—an optical illusion some scientists use!
This 45 minute workshop for ages 3-5 will be held on Saturday, February 15th at 9:30 a.m. at the Main Library. Registration is required. Beginning Monday, February 3rd, register online, in person or by calling 617-376-2411.
Due to space limitations, this program is limited to Quincy residents.
