Winter Concerts @the Crane Celtic Stories and Song with Jeff Snow

winter music imageThe Softer Side of Celtic combines the music, stories and a wee bit of history from Scotland, Ireland and England into a program that will keep you on the edge of your seat. There will be singing, laughing, clapping and perhaps a bit of foot stomping.  You might even shed a few tears when you hear the story of John Hunt who came to America in 1855. He settled in Aberdeen Maryland, found a job, got married, had children and spent the rest of his life in Aberdeen. He never returned to Ireland and never saw his family again. When John came to America he was 13. Their only communication was the annual family letter that told John the family news.  The letters were discovered in the 1970's and became the foundation for the Ballad of Kilkelly Ireland. You can learn more and read the first and last of the series of letters here. This concert will last 75-90 minutes and include music on the guitar, bouzouki and autoharp.
