Teens!
Come to the Fitchburg Public Library Teen Center, and show off your poetry skills, or learn something new!
Blackout Poetry is a form of poetry where someone copies or uses words already written, such as a newspaper article, a page from an old book, or a magazine, and uses black pen to cover up the words they don't want to see on the page, leaving a new composition behind with the words they do want to see.
You can ask the Teen Services Librarian for examples, or do a quick google search for Blackout Poetry. This form of poetry has origins dating back a long, long time!
In the Teen Center at the Fitchburg Public Library, from 2:00pm-3:30 pm. For ages 11-18.
This program is part of Fitchburg's City-wide 01420 Week: Celebrating Fitchburg! calendar of events. Check out all the other 01420 Week events here!

Easy craft kits to go! Craft Kits can be picked up the Children's Room while supplies last.
Today's kit includes supplies needed to make a pinecone bird feeder.
Ideal for the beginner, no experience necessary - We will discuss colors and how to blend them in a successful manner using a permanent, high chroma, highly transparent liquid fabric paint.
Instructions will be given for a step by step “tie dye style” creative process and each participant will go home with a beautiful, wearable creation. At the end of the workshop each participant will take home their scarf and allow it to dry overnight. Once the piece is dry, it can be ironed on the silk setting to permanently set the colors. The scarf is 100% silk with a hand rolled (hand sewn) hem and 8” x 54”.
Open to adults and older teens (16+).
Bring an old shirt to protect your clothing.
