| Description | Presented by Sandra Hedges, LCSW, from Overlook C.A.R.E., this program will focus on explaining this misunderstood and somewhat "hidden" problem among older adults. With her experience working at an Area Agency on Aging in Brooklyn, NY, Sandra had the opportunity to work closely with adults who hoard items in their homes. Sandra's work included helping to create a safe environment and working with the emotions and deeper issues that coincide with hoarding behaviors. This presentation is for all audiences - such as concerned friends and family members, professionals and people who have issues with hoarding. Sandra's presentation will also explain how hoarding is defined and identified, as well as when it is an issue and how can we work to keep the individual safe and happy with their lives.
