Your donors have the power to strengthen and protect the library they love today, tomorrow, and into the future by including a gift in their will. Not only do bequests and other planned gifts provide your donors with the best opportunity to make a significant impact, they are also the lowest cost, highest value gifts you can generate for your library. With an estimated $20 trillion to be transferred intergenerationally between 2000 and 2020, libraries of all sizes need to start talking to their donors about bequests. In this interactive session,  participants will learn why planned giving is important, who is most likely to make an estate gift and how to implement and market a basic bequest program. Through hands on exercises and role play, participants will leave this session feeling more comfortable and competent talking to their donors about leaving a legacy to their library.
