Osaki-san, William Gillette's Gentleman Valet
The East Haddam Stage Company with the Friends of the Ansonia Library
Presents Osaki-san William Gillette’s Gentleman Valet, written and directed by
Kandie Karlie.
It was 1888 when Yukitaka and his older brother Yukio came to visit the US
from Japan. Yukio went on to become a leader in Japanese politics, and would
give Washington DC the famous cherry trees. Yukitaka, however, decided to stay.
Discover the story of the elusive brother behind the famous politician. Poignant
and life affirming, here is what you may not know about Victiorian actor
William Gillette, creator of the role of Sherlock Holmes for the stage, and the
quiet soul who worked by his side for almost 40 years.
Appropriate for ages 12 and over. The show runs approximately 45 minutes.
