LEAF SCIENCE--Why do leaves change color?
This experiment is geared toward families with kids ages 3 & up. Leaves contain Chlorophyll. Chlorophyll makes the leaves green and is so dominant that it covers up all the other colors in the leaves. To figure out what color a leaf would be without the dominant chlorophyll color, we can separate the colors by doing this science experiment.
Registration for materials is required for each experiment you would like to try, limited quantities are available and will be reserved for those who have registered. Once your registration has been confirmed, library staff will work with participants to set up a time to pick up their experiment materials through scheduled Curbside Pick-up. Science materials can be picked up at the library Monday-Friday during the week that experiment is featured, only at pre-scheduled times.
To register for a materials kit, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 508-222-7820 during the week of October 19. The last day to register and schedule a pick up time for these materials will be Saturday October 24.
