In this beginning-to-cook class via Zoom, young chefs (preschool-grade 2) will develop an appetite for nutritious foods while being introduced to books that reinforce social and academic skills. Experience new foods and new books! Register online, and a Zoom link will be emailed prior to the program.

July 22 Recipe: Strawberry Shortcake (Cake)
If possible, please have these supplies ready at your home for our  virtual class: (3) 9" round cake pans OR a 13x9" pan, medium and large-sized bowls, measuring cups, measuring spoons, wooden spoon, 
Ingredients you will need on hand for recipe: 
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • strawberries (optional)
  • parchment paper or wax paper
  • non-stick cooking spray or Crisco
