This month's read is Line Becomes a River :  dispatches from the border by Francisco Cantu. 
Cantu is a member of the Border Patrol.  He tries not to think what happens to the people he delives into detention.  The violence our border wrecks on both sides becomes personal when a friend does not return from visiting his mother.
