The Loudest Voice and Christmas is a Sad Season for the Poor
Two lighthearted holiday stories tell very different tales of the city. In The Loudest Voice, by Grace Paley, Christmas meets Hanukkah when a young Jewish girl accepts an important part in her public school’s holiday play; and in Christmas is a Sad Season for the Poor, an elevator operator in a Park Avenue residential building shares Christmas Day – and the details of his life – with the wealthy tenants who live there. Suggested admission is 3lbs of non-perishable food to benefit our local pantries. Please register.
