Richard Knox returns for another engaging series featuring outstanding singers from the 1950's.  Presentations include 2 part programs on 6 different entertainers.  This week and October 28th will highlight Nat King Cole and Florence Henderson Part 2.

A list of the great recording artists of the mid-20th century would be incomplete without the legendary baritone voice of Nat King Cole. With a meteoric career that spanned film, radio, and television, his rendition of songs such as “When I Fall in Love”, “Mona Lisa”, “Ramblin’ Rose”, and “Smile” are truly “Unforgettable”.

Prior to playing Carol Brady on the hit television series “The Brady Bunch”, Florence Henderson had already cemented a place for herself as an outstanding musical artist.  She followed up her Broadway debut in “Wish You Were Here” in 1952 with an extensive run as the title character in “Fanny”, and later appeared in revivals of both “Oklahoma” and “South Pacific”. This program will allow audiences to see and hear her perform some of the great melodies from the aforementioned shows as well as other great standards such as “Make Someone Happy”, “It’s Almost Like Being in Love”, and “Manhattan”.
