Caroline Doctorow will focus on the folk music of the early ’60s, presenting the work of important American songwriters and performers such as Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Tom Paxton, Donovan, Richard and Mimi Fariña, Pete Seeger, and others. She also performs her original compositions and discusses the songwriting process and describes what it was like growing up with her late father, world-renowned author E.L. Doctorow. Through song, this program offers the listener a unique perspective of this significant period in our country’s musical history. It’s music that audience members of all ages will enjoy and remember. Audience sing-alongs are encouraged!

Singer-Songwriter Caroline Doctorow has been called a great champion of American folk music. This year she received The Alexander Award from the Long Island Arts Council, and an official New York State Proclamation from State Senator John E. Brooks, honoring her many years of work as a folksinger. She will appear next year in the Christopher Lucas film "Pete Seeger Legacy" along with Taj Mahal, Guy Davis, Dar Williams, John Cohen and others, a project which celebrates Pete Seeger's legacy and 100th birthday. In addition to eleven solo albums, she released the first retrospective of the work of '60s folk icons Richard and Mimi Fariña titled Another Country which received critical acclaim.
