Learn how to sculpt a miniature breakfast! Make a menu of mini food: the hungry man special, a short stack of pancakes or a side of toast. If you enjoy eating it for breakfast you can make it from air dry clay!
This program is made possible through CARES Act funding to Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services as administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
Clay: We recommend using Crayola Air Dry Clay. Find it at Michael's, Amazon and other art supply stores.
You can also make your own air dry clay, but be advised that it is prone to cracking Please make the air dry clay before the class. Video instructions can be found at: https://youtu.be/5BF6zyghvek
• Crayola Air Dry Clay or premade batch of air dry clay from the following ingredients:
• 2 cups baking soda
• 1 cup cornstarch
• 1 1/2 cups water
• Microwave safe bowl
• Butter knife
• White glue
• Smooth surface to work on such as a wood or plastic cutting board, baking tray, etc.
During the class, we will make a variety of miniature breakfast foods. The sculpted food will need to dry for a few days before you finish it with paint or markers. We'll go over what kinds of paint to use during the class.
