On April 8th we will experience a Total Solar Eclipse! While Shirley is not in the path of the totality, we will still experience approximately 92% obscuration. The eclipse will begin at approximately 2:20 pm with maximum obscuration of 92% occurring at 3:29 pm and then the partial eclipse will conclude around 4:30 pm.

Join us for our Outdoor Solar Eclipse Watch Party starting at 2:25 pm. We will have an Alien Scavenger Hunt and a STEM Astronaut Training course.

Solar glasses will be available and given out during our event! Except during the brief total phase of a total eclipse, when the Moon completely block's the Sun, it is not safe to look directly at the Sun without specialized viewing any part of the bright Sun without specialized eye protection. Please do not view any part of the bright Sun through a camera lens, binoculars or a telescope without a special-purpose solar filtered optics will cause severe eye injury.

This program is for all ages! Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child. No drop offs allowed.
