Tonight there will be a free screening of the 2017 American comedy-drama called "The Upside," starring Bryan Cranston and Kevin Hart. When Park Avenue billionaire Phillip Lacasse (Cranston) is paralyzed after a hang-gliding accident, he hires unqualified ex-con Dell Scott (Hart) as his caretaker. Phil, who recently lost his wife to cancer, has lost the will to live and Dell is the best candidate to carry out the Do Not Resuscitate edict he's asked for, should his health deteriorate. Altough they come from two completely different worlds and backgrounds, Phil and Dell form an unlikely friendship, with Phil introducing Dell to high society with opera, fast cars and art, and giving him stable financial footing with decent paychecks, while Dell share with his employer the music of Aretha Franklin, and the tastiness of hot dogs and soft serve ice cream. This film is based on the hit French movie called "The Untouchables" which tells the true story of Philippe Pozo di Borgo. The remake's cast also includes Nicole Kidman, Julianna Marguilies, Golshifteh Farahani, and Aja Naomi King. The movie is rated PG-13 for suggestive content and drug use, and the running time is 126 minutes. Please join us for an entertaining screening! This program is free and open to the public, and is kindly sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library.
