Unfortunately our original date for this program of 1/14/20 had to be postponed due to illness of the presenter, BUT tonight there will now be this fun program happening and we hope you will all come join us for an enlighting presentation!
Longtime Llewellyn Worldwide author Sally Cragin has been reading TaroT cards for years (actually decades), and when she started doing a talk at Roots Natural Foods in Leominster every Fall, she found that people were fascinated with the history of the cards, the meaning of the suits (pentacles or discs, swords, wands and cups) and the "Trump" or Major Arcana cards. She uses the Ryder-Waite deck and talks about the Renaissance-era origins of the cards, and about art nouveau creator Pamela Colman-Smith and the iconography she used. She has multiple decks, so this is truly a "hands-on" workshop. This program is suitable for adults, teens and middle-schoolers.
"From the history of the cards to their meanings, Sally provided an engaging introductory lesson to TaroT. Program participants very much enjoyed this class, and look forward to Sally's next presentation at the library." -- Kelley Rae Unger, Program Director, Peabody Public Library
The presenter is a resident of Fitchburg, MA and an instructor at Fitchburg State University. She is also a freelance writer who speaks at many different venues, including libraries and schools. She teaches classes about astrology, tarot card reading, palmistry, writing, several historical subjects, theater for children, recycling, and creating family memories and stories.
There is no sign-up required for this program and it is kindly sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library.
Also there is a snow date scheduled for Tuesday, January 28th at 7 PM.
