Long range planning is a sound strategy for school librarians, especially now with all of the emerging 2.0 tools. Planning charts your services and programs for the future and pulls in your stakeholders in the process. Plans are a wonderful tool for communication with faculty and administrators. If a Massachusetts Library System member, having a plan in place with the MBLC (Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners) makes you eligible for LSTA (Library Services and Technology Act) grants. Learn what's involved in planning and get a head start. MLS is a PDP provider and will provide Certificates of Attendance towards PDPs.
