Start 2012/10/11 at 09:30:00 AM

Description (old) The Basic Library Techniques in Reference course is required for Directors in towns under 10,000 who do not have a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science; a Director's completion of all 4 BLT's maintains the library's certification for state aid to libraries.

This 2-session reference series will cover the reference interview,  policies, using online resources and  databases to answer questions, community resources that provide information, as well as homework help and reference services for students.

Anna Popp, MLS Advisor, and invited guests will provide the training. Part 2 of the Reference BLT will take place on October 25; you need to register separately for that workshop and attend both sessions for BLT credit.

Please bring a lunch that doesn't require refrigeration or heating; a beverage will be provided.
