Librarians and archivists entrusted with the care of books, personal papers, and public records should be prepared to minimize damage to these materials from an emergency or disaster.  By preparing a disaster plan staffs can reduce the possibility that a disaster might occur and can minimize the damage to materials from fires, floods, leaky pipes, leaky roofs, fire hoses, etc.  Most water-damaged materials can be salvaged if you know WHAT to do and WHEN to do it.  Come and learn about the initial steps of disaster preparedness and recovery and how you can begin to protect your collections.

Instructed by Gregor Trinkaus- Randall, Preservation Specialist at the MBLC.

**Please note this is an all day workshop if attending you should bring a bagged lunch that does not require refrigeration or reheating. Also wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting a little dirty.
