Grades 1-3

Advanced Beginners is for children who have either completed all 4 levels of Story Time Chess or have a good understanding of chess piece movement, basic strategies, and algebraic notation. Children will work together with peers to solve chess puzzles for the first 15-30 minutes and then will play a game of chess.
