Nikki's father dies leaving the family in financial ruin so she takes a job teaching a "creative writing class" in the heart of London's Punjabi community.

Because of miscommunication, the Sikh widows who show up are expecting to learn basic English literacy, and not how to write short stories

When one woman shows up with a book of sexy stories in English and shares it with the class, Nikki realizes that her students have stories of their own to tell. As the class grows in popularity, Nikki has to warn the class to keep their stories

a secret from the Brotherhood- a group of conservative men who have apponted themselves the moral police of the community.

Gossip of the death of a young wife ends up threatening all of them.

This is a funny, lively story about friendship, community, and women's lives at all ages.

We will meet at the Galleria in Mount Lebanon (tables and chairs outside of Paneras) to discuss this book.
