THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14TH @ 7PM
Join us and our furry friends in the children’s section of the library for an opportunity to read to the dogs. The main objective of this program is to provide a relaxed and “dog-friendly” atmosphere, which allows kids to practice the skill of reading. By sitting down next to a dog and reading to the dog, all threats of being judged are put aside. The child relaxes, pats the attentive dog, and focuses on the reading. Reading improves because the child is practicing the skill of reading, building self-esteem, and associating reading with something pleasant.
Each child will receive the The 7 Habits of Happy Kids...When I Grow Up! paperback book to read to the dogs and take home with them. In the Ready to Ready program kids are the raising stars. They will be gaining confidence to read from one level to the next level. With a constellation of engaging, soon-to-be favorite stories and starring characters to lead the way, we encourage beginning reader to enjoy the journey of learning to read. So come on and get reading!!!
We will be making a Chritmas Pickle to hang on your tree!
(please register each child separately...include their grade for fall 2019)
