Novelist Crystal King Visits This Month
We are pleased to host a discussion and book signing with novelist Crystal King on Thursday, February 28th at 7pm. Ms. King will talk about her new historical fiction novel The Chef’s Secret, which follows the career of Bartolomeo Scappi, a renowned Italian Renaissance chef who was the cuoco segreto (private cook) to several popes. Her first novel, Feast of Sorrow, about Roman gourmand Marcus Gavius Apicius, the man whose name is on the world’s oldest known cookbook, was published in 2017 by Touchstone Books. The Chef’s Secret will release in February and is published by Atria. Ms. King is a Boston based writer, culinary enthusiast, and marketing expert. Her writing is fueled by a love of history and an obsession with the food, language, and culture of Italy. She has taught writing and social media at Grub Street in Boston and several universities including the Harvard Extension School and Boston University. Registration is required for this event as space is limited.
