 .2017 WATER RESTRICTION UPDATE

2017 WATER BAN RESTRICTION

RETURNS TO PHASE 1

 

Effective May 18, 2017 updated watering restrictions are as follows:

PHASE I

  • Mandatory outside water use restrictions consisting of odd/even watering based on house number.

  • Lawn and garden watering is permitting only between the hours of 5-9 AM  and 5-9 PM.

  • Hand held hose use is allowed anytime.

The MassDEP Drought Management Task Force met on May 9th to assess hydrologic conditions throughout the Commonwealth. As a result of above normal rainfall in March , April and thus far in May, Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Secretary Matthew Beaton declared on May 11, 2017 the drought level in the Southeast Region is returned to normal condition level.  As such, Mansfield Board of Selectmen in their role of Water Commissioners voted favorably to return the Outdoor Water Use Restriction from Phase III to Phase I. Unless noted otherwise, Phase I water restrictions shall remain in place from now through Sept 30, 2017.   For questions or concerns, please call Mansfield Water Division (508) 261-7376.

 .POTENTIAL WATER IMPACT-June 1st

NOTICE OF POTENTIAL WATER IMPACT; Posted June 1, 2017

Mansfield Water Division is running a hydrant flow test at 600 West Street and also working to repair a service leak on Ecco Hill Road today.  These situations create a change the water pressure in the public water system which may or may not impact water quality temporarily.  If you are experiencing discolored water in your service, run water until color appears clear.

 .POTENTIAL WATER IMPACT-WEST MANSFIELD

Notice of potential water impact posted 6-22-17:

Water customers in West Mansfield, may or may not experience water discoloration due to a Water Flow Test at 560 West St. Thursday, June 22, 2017. 

Next Wednesday, June 28, 2017 the Water Division will be activating its Mahana Well #6 facility located at 311 Plain St. This activity also may cause water discoloration.  Should this occur, please run water until clear.

 MANSFIELD WATER E-MAIL NOTIFICATION SYSTEM

Mansfield Water Customers can now receive e-mail notifications regarding water related incidents that may potentially impact your water service. Activities such as hydrant flushing, planned shut offs, emergency repairs, and broken mains are known to stir up mineral deposits within the system which may cause an unpleasant discoloration in your water service.

To have your name immediately added to the distribution list forward your name, property address and e-mail address to emccarter@mansfieldma.com

The Water Division staff will notify you via e-mail as soon as possible when a situation is identified that may cause an impact to your water.

E-mail addresses forwarded to us will be for the sole use of the Mansfield Water Division and will not be distributed to other agencies.
