Masonic Youth Child Identification Program
Sponsored by Frank W. Thompson Lodge, A.F. & A.M.—Bedford’s Lodge of Masons and assisted by
The Bedford Family Connection
SATURDAY, June 1, 2013
10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Bedford Fire Station
55 Great Road, Bedford, MA
FREE of charge and open to all children from birth through college.
ALL IDENTIFICATION MATERIALS ARE KEPT BY THE CHILD’S FAMILY!
It is an alarming fact that over 1,000,000 children are reported missing in the United States each year.
While most are found, many are not.
The Massachusetts Masonic Youth Child Identification Program (MYCHIP) provides children’s families with identification materials designed to help find a missing child as quickly as possible. It is the most comprehensive service of its kind in the world and is hailed by recovery officials at the
National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The MYCHIP identification materials include:
VIDEO: A brief video interview that can be quickly distributed to the media.
FINGERPRINTS: Fingerprinting is a well-known means of identification. Resourceful parents keep fingerprints available should the need arise.
TOOTHPRINTS: A toothprintTM bite impression, is quick and easy. Teeth, like fingerprints, are unique. Dental imprints give accurate and important information for identification purposes.
DNA SWABS: Nearly 100% accurate for identification—done in seconds!

The Bedford Board of Health, in partnership with Relay for Life of Bedford and the American Cancer Society, is excited to announce that Bedford will be an enrollment site for a national research study. The ultimate goal is to enroll at least 300,000 adults from various racial and ethnic backgrounds from across the U.S.
To better understand ways to prevent cancer, the American Cancer Society is recruiting men and women across the US and Puerto Rico for a landmark new research study – Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). Enrollment will take place at Relay For Life of Bedford, Bedford High School Track, June 1, 2013, 4:00-8:00 p.m. Individuals may choose to participate if they are willing to make a long-term commitment to the study (which involves completing follow-up surveys periodically over the next 20-30 years), are between the ages of 30 and 65 years old and have never been diagnosed with cancer. For more information, visit The American Cancer Society’s website www.cancer.org/cps3 , call 1-888-604-5888, or e-mail cps3@cancer.org . If you are interested but unable to attend Bedford’s Relay For Life Event on June 1st, please search the American Cancer Society’s website, or call to ask about other locations across the state or country where you can register to participate.
