Readers age 12 and older are invited to join us for a discussion of "Divergent" by Victoria Roth. No registration is required. Summary: In a dystopian future, Beatrice Prior turns sixteen in a society made up of five distinct groups. Each values a different trait. On their 16th birthday, each person must decide whether to continue on in their birth faction, or join a different group. Beatrice makes a decision that surprises everyone, including herself. But it’s not the biggest surprise she offers. Beatrice is a Divergent – a person who has traits of more than one group. She is also poised to discover the history of her society, and where it will go from here.
