The summer time classic Bedtime Story Hour returns beginning on June 25th through August 6th at 6:30 PM. Children ages 4 and up are invited to put on their coziest PJs, grab a stuffed animal friend and join Miss Amy for 30 minutes of silly stories, rhymes and the chance to "Go Bananas!" No registration is required. Our story hours are funded by the Friends of the Library.

Kids ages 3-5 are welcome to come and join us in singing some fun songs, listening to some of their favorite stories and participating in a simple craft! Again, this program is for children ages 3-5 and who are able to separate from their parent/caregiver for the first 30 minutes of the program. Preschool story hour is located in the Anderson story room and is funded by the Friends of the Library.

We're breaking out our K'Nex once more to see what we can create on Wednesday, July 25th from 2:30-3:30pm. Kids entering grades 4-6 are welcome to exercise their architecture skills and spend an hour designing and building whatever they can think of using our K'nex collection. We'll provide our bridge-building kits along with our bigger collection of K'nex pieces. Registration for this program is required and begins on July 5th.

Mama Steph's music will fill the Copeland Room on Thursday, July 26th at 11:15 AM! We're very excited to have musician, singer, songwriter and entertainer Mama Steph return to the library for a morning filled with songs (old and new), puppets, and laughter. There’s definitely no better way to spend a morning than singing and dancing! This program is for children ages 0-5. Registration is required and begins on July 11th. This program is funded by the Anderson Foundation.

We welcome back one of our favorite people, Carol Carver, for a Curious George storybook program on Monday, July 30th. Carol will be running this program for four Mondays this summer: July 30th, August 6th, August 13th and August 20th at 1:30 PM. Beat the heat and come hear about the adventures and mischief that everyone's favorite monkey, Curious George, finds himself getting into. Crafts and other fun activities to follow. This program is for kids ages 3-6. You will only need to sign up once for the entire four weeks. Registration will begin on July 17th.

Get ready to have a whale of a good time when the Whalemobile makes its way back to the Abington library on Wednesday, August 1st at 3:00 PM. Join Cynde McInnis as she teaches about toothed and baleen whales and the different sounds they make. We'll learn about humpback whales and why/where they migrate. Everyone will also have a chance to step inside Nile, the inflatable whale! This program is for kids entering 1st grade and up. Registration is required and begins on July 18th. This program is funded by the Friends of the Library.

The second meeting of our Lunch Bunch Book Club is Thursday, August 2nd from 12:00-1:00 PM. Get ready for an afternoon of food, discussion and laughter! We will be discussing this summer’s book choice, doing a few book-related activities and eating lunch. Kids in grades 4-6 only need to register for this program once on June 6th, and then they will be registered for both meetings. Lunch bunch will be held in the Anderson Story Room and is funded by the Friends of the Library.

Get ready to be amazed on Wednesday, August 8th at 11:15 AM when Kevin O'Keefe's One-Man Circus-in-a-Suitcase arrives at the Abington library! From his suitcase an entire circus emerges- tent, lights, band, imagination and much more. Watch as Kevin's character, Keefer, tries to run away and join the circus! This is sure to be an afternoon full of laughter, amazement and some great audience participation. This program is for kids entering kindergarten and up. Registration is required and begins on July 18th. This program is funded by the Friends of the Library.

Ready… Set… Lego! Our library lego club continues throughout the summer, so get ready to use your imagination and build, build, build! During the summer, lego club is for children entering 1st grade and up, but we will have Duplos available for any younger friends who wish to create. Children attending the club must be accompanied by an adult. This program is from 2:30-3:30 PM and no registration is necessary. A BIG thank you to all of the community members who donated the supplies that make this club possible.
