Toby teaches writing and poetry at Las Positas College, where she has run an annual poetry slam since 2003. She has just begun the second year of her term as 2012-2014 Poet Laureate of Albany, California.

Samantha Kennedy's poetry has been printed in Verbivore, The Las Positas Anthology, Occam's Razor, and The Copperfield Review. elect_video_camera 5:30 PM  -  8:00 PM Albany Library Film Series: After Hours Remind Me about this Event Download Event Info Tell a Friend
American Comedy Movie Masterpieces (A Free 5-month Film Series.) Join other film lovers to watch and discuss little-known classics in American film comedy from the 1960s to today. Facilitator: Jeff M. Giordano, film maker and curator for theaters and libraries. Program starta at 5:30pm with intro by Jeff Giordano, film viewing, break, and then discussion. Light refreshments will be available.

After Hours (1985)

directed by Martin Scorsese.

A very offbeat comedy starring Griffin Dunn. The story follows an Manhattan office worker who breaks his monotonous life, by pursuing a love interest (Rosanna Arquette) -- resulting in a very surreal, Kafka-esque night full of surprises. Nothing in Paul’s humdrum life as a word processor prepares him for his surreal trip to fashionable SoHo where he attempts to keep a date with a woman he met in a coffeeshop. The failed date becomes a sort of bizarre, never-ending nightmare in which Paul can’t seem to escape in this perplexing comedy.
