Teens are invited to partake in a free New SAT practice test administered by C2 Education at the Castro Valley Library, Saturday, April 1st from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm.

In preparation for what might be the most important test of your life, this 4.5 hour workshop will offer teens the opportunity to learn and find out how you would score on the new test.  Get realistic practice and try your hand at the types of questions you'll face on the actual exam.  You will also receive a personalized score report pinpointing your strengths and weaknesses.

Registration is requested. Sign up by phone or in person at the Library Information Desk.

C2 Education is a K-12 education center that has been serving local families throughout the Bay Area for over 9 years.  Aside from assisting parents and children with navigating the common core curriculum, they have been an essential resource for understanding today's necessities for college readiness and application process.

During this open lab time, you can use the computers to update or create a resume, search for jobs online, or build new work skills.

   and College-Level tutoring in Math, Physics, and Chemistry every Monday.  Subjects that will be covered include:

   Math: Algebra, Geometry, Pre Calculus, Analysis, Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Ordinary Differential Equations
   Physics: All High School and College Physics
   Chemistry: High school chemistry
 

No Registration or appointment necessary, however participants must be high school aged or older.

•Copy of last year's income tax returns
•All 2016 tax documents (1099, W-2, etc.)
•Child care provider information (name, employer ID, SSN)
•Records of any estimated tax payments made during 2016
•Summary of receipts or checks for deductible items if itemizing

Become a Castro Valley Booklegger!

The Booklegger program is a wonderful and flexible volunteer opportunity for people who love kids and books. It's a new partnership of the Castro Valley Unified School District and the Alameda County Library dedicated to promoting independent reading by children. Bookleggers visit K to 5 classrooms to share books that kids can't resist.

Consider joining the inaugural class of the Castro Valley Bookleggers! We'll teach you booktalking and storytelling skills. You'll use your talents and passion to connect kids and books.

To attend the Orientation meeting please RSVP to dbalestreri@aclibrary.org or cselig@aclibrary.org.

At the meeting you will meet library staff, get a demonstration of Booklegging, learn about the training program, and understand the commitment necessary to be an outstanding Booklegger.

•All 2016 tax documents (1099, W-2, etc.)

Teens are invited to partake in a free New ACT practice test administered by C2 Education at the Castro Valley Library, Saturday, April 1st from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm.

In preparation for what might be the most important test of your life, this 4.5 hour workshop will offer teens the opportunity to learn and find out how you would score on the new test.  Get realistic practice and try your hand at the types of questions you'll face on the actual exam.  You will also receive a personalized score report pinpointing your strengths and weaknesses.

Registration is requested. Sign up by phone or in person at the Library Information Desk.

C2 Education is a K-12 education center that has been serving local families throughout the Bay Area for over 9 years.  Aside from assisting parents and children with navigating the common core curriculum, C2 have been an essential resource for understanding today's necessities for college readiness and application process.

Learn how to capture and share stunning photos with your iPhone or iPad!  This is a hands-on class that will show you how to compose a shot, edit with the Photos App, share your snaps, and manage your digital photo library...with time for Q & A.

 Bring your device, its cord & charging plug, ear buds, your iTunes credentials and your device passcode to each class.

Join us for a FLUTE CONCERT featuring Flute Fantasia and the Chabot Flute Choir!  Sunday, April 30, 2 to 3:30 pm in the Chabot Room.

Flute Fantasia, a professional ensemble, was founded in 2011 and performs in flute trio, quartet and quintet settings. Their music ranges from medieval to modern and includes an eclectic mix of musical styles from Bach to the Beatles. The ensemble recently  performed at the 44th annual National Flute Association Convention and appears at local art and charity events including the Olive Hyde Art Guild and the Friends of First United Methodist Church Recital Series.

Chabot Flute Choir includes students majoring in music at Chabot College and community members who wish to hone their playing skills coming together in a group that performs on alto flutes and bass flutes as well as the more well known C flutes and piccolo.
