Kid Power Orientation
Are you going into 6th, 7th, or 8th grade next fall? Sign up to be a Kid Power Volunteer this summer at the Castro Valley Library!
The Kid Power program is a good way for you to serve the public and to fulfill volunteering hours for school. At the same time you will develop work skills and experience. A Kid Power Volunteer’s primary duty is to help kids play the Summer Reading Game. Volunteers may also help with special programs and perform other duties as time and interest allow. Volunteers who complete 8 hours will receive a reward at the end of the summer!
All interested Kid Power volunteers must attend one of the following orientation sessions:
Wednesday, May 30th, 4:00-5:00
Saturday, June 2nd, 3:00-4:00
Tuesday, June 5th, 7:00-8:00
At these orientations, volunteers will learn the rules of the Summer Reading Game, volunteering expectations, and hand in their complete Kid Power forms.
Registration required. Registration will begin May 1st. Visit the children's desk at the Castro Valley Library to register, or call for more information. Be sure to pick up your Kid Power application packet when you register - it must be handed in with a parent's signature at orientation!
