Looking for help with some REALLY hard homework?
The Castro Valley library and two post-Graduate Science and Engineering Students are offering free High School
and College-Level tutoring in Math, Physics, and Chemistry every Monday. Subjects that will be covered include:
Math: Algebra, Geometry, Pre Calculus, Analysis, Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Ordinary Differential Equations
Physics: All High School and College Physics
Chemistry: High school chemistry
No Registration or appointment necessary, however participants must be high school aged or older.

LOOKING FOR A JOB? WE’RE HERE TO HELP!
Open Monday afternoons from 12:30 to 3 pm and Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm, the drop-in Job Lab provides a quiet space for job seekers to use the library's laptops to work on employment-related tasks. During this open lab time, you can use the computers to update or create a resume, search for jobs online, or build new work skills.
Volunteers will be on hand to help with resumes, job searches, online applications and a wide range of other employment related activities. Contact: Castro Valley Library (510) 667-7900

Creative Writing Workshop by the Castro Valley Ed Foundation for Grades 6-12

Spark your creative energy and learn to improve your writing! All Castro Valley students from 6th through 12th grades are invited to register for this one day annual event. Members of the community are also welcome.
Local teachers and professional writers will offer a series of workshops. The day will include sessions for practice writing, information on how to get publilshed, and a panel discussion by the presenters. Lunch with be provided for registered participants.

If you need help improving your computer skills or using a new gadget, the Library has an ongoing program for one-on-one help. Help is available for the following topics and more:

♦eBooks and eBook readers ♦Digital Cameras and managing digital photographs ♦Applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Bring your own laptop or use a library laptop equipped with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. Volunteer instructor Christopher Kyauk is available in the Learning Center from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. No registration is necessary.
