Sulphur Creek presents Fantastic Feet!

The Castro Valley Library

Saturday, July 30 @ 10am

Come investigate why animals have different kinds of feet and find out what they are designed to do.  Naturalists from the Sulphur Creek Nature Center will bring a chicken, an opossum, and a turtle to show how diverse animal feet can be.

Designed for children 4 and over.  Registration is not required.  First come, first served; space may be limited.

Local multicultural artist Rachel-Anne Palacios will provide an introduction to how and why henna body art is used around the world. She will demonstrate, and give practice sessions with teens. Teens will also be informed on how to use henna as a medium as well as a body painting medium. Each participant takes home their own henna kit, blank hands sheet and sheet of 24 patterns to use.

Open Monday afternoons from 12:30 to 3 pm and Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm, the drop-in Job Lab provides a quiet space for job seekers to use the library's laptops to work on employment-related tasks. During this open lab time, you can use the computers to update or create a resume, search for jobs online, or build new work skills.

Curious about yoga but not ready to join an ongoing class?  This class is just for you! Dress in comfy clothes and bring an exercise matt if you have one!  All adults and teens are welcome regardless of current fitness level.* 


Instructor Joe Sapena completed the teaching program at the Yoga Room in Berkeley. Because of the profound influence the practice of yoga has had in his life, he hopes to inspire and guide students in their own journey of discovery. Joe can be contacted at  jdsapena@aol.com.

Open Monday afternoons from 12:30 to 3 pm and Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm, the drop-in Job Lab provides a quiet space for job seekers to use the library's laptops to work on employment-related tasks. During this open lab time, you can use the computers to update or create a resume, search for jobs online, or build new work skills.
