Art Is Education Month at Centerville Library

Thursday, March 7, 3:30 - 5:30 pm Mandala Paper Quilt Workshop
This fun workshop for families will be led by Teaching Artist Lilli Lanier. This project uses basic traditional kirigami paper cutting techniques to create colorful, layered, mandala paper quilt squares. All ages welcome, and all materials will be provided.

Kids and teens of all ages are invited to participate in making scenes of the seasons with kirigami paper cutting art. From flowers and butterflies to pine trees and snowflakes, there are countless patterns you can create. All materials are provided, so just bring your creativity and imagination and stop by anytime during library open hours. The project will be put on display in the Children’s Area after completion.

Join instructor Sunita Raj in this fun Bollywood dance learning program for children 18 to 48 months old and their parent. Space is limited, so a ticket is required to attend. Free tickets will be handed out 30 minutes prior to the program.
Thursday, March 28, 4-4:30 pm Read-To-Me Special Session
In this special storytime session, children ages 2 to 6 years old will enjoy art-themed stories and receive a coloring page. No registration is required.

Kids and teens of all ages are invited to participate in making scenes of the seasons with kirigami paper cutting art. From flowers and butterflies to pine trees and snowflakes, there are countless patterns you can create. All materials are provided, so just bring your creativity and imagination and stop by anytime during library open hours. The project will be put on display in the Children’s Area after completion.

Join us for our Winter session of Preschool Storytime Plus. There will be stories, nursery rhymes, finger plays, music and more! Our Winter session will be held on Tuesdays at 1:30 pm from January 15th to February 26th.

This one-on-one reading assistance program is for children grades 1-6. It is provided by trained teen volunteers. Choose one from the six reading periods: 3:30-4:00pm, 4:15-4:45pm, 5:00-5:30pm on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Program runs from the first week of October through the last week of May with some breaks.
Annual registration is required and starts Tuesday, September 4th, 2012.
To register, parents must call or come in person during Centerville Library's open hours: Tue. 1-8pm, Thurs. 11am-6pm. Seats are limited and fill up very quickly so register as early as possible.
