misc_none 1:00 PM  -  3:00 PM Teen Read In Remind Me about this Event Download Event Info Tell a Friend

Dublin Library is holding a Teen Read In on Saturday, June 10th from 1-3 pm. Join us for an hour of free reading time, or spend your hour talking about books via social media using one of the library's laptops. The read in is part of a larger project, the #48HBC (48 Hour Book Challenge) that has been an annual event in year's past. The goal of the #48HBC is to read or talk about books via social media for as much time as possible, within a 48-hour window. It is usually in June, so this year, Dublin Library will be challenging teens to read and discuss books as much as possible from June 9th (8 pm) - June 11th (8 pm). All the time spent reading will count towards your summer reading program totals also, so make sure you log those hours. The teen that logs the most time reading during this 48-hour time period will win a prize!

misc_none 2:00 PM  -  3:00 PM Teen Book Chat Remind Me about this Event Download Event Info Tell a Friend

After a brief hiatus, Teen Book Chat is back, and we're ready to discuss new teen books! High school students are encouraged to join us for our monthly book chat meetings, which are held one Saturday a month. For Teen Book Chat, register at the Information Desk and select a title you'd like to read from the books available (selection varies month to month). Read your selected title (each person reads a different title each month), and prepare a short book talk for the group. Attend the monthly meeting, and talk about new teen books! Each person will present their book, and the group can ask questions while learning about great new titles from their peers. Instructions for the book talk are given when you pick up a title. After the meeting, the book is yours to keep!

Generously sponsored by the Dublin Friends of the Library.
