Successful Outdoor Photography (Part 2)
| |
Are you interested in taking better photographs? Come join professional photographer Gerry Mooney for an outdoor photography session at a Dublin area park.
You’ll first meet in the Dublin Library Program Room on Saturday, May 4th at 1:00 PM, where Gerry will go over the goals of the class. Students will then assemble for a 2-hour photography session (photographing people, nature, buildings according to your interest) at a park location in Dublin. You will learn basic photographic techniques on location. Camera controls, exposure, lighting, etc. will be discussed. Assignments will be given and critiqued at the second meeting.
Following the outdoor photo session, you’ll send Gerry email attachments of your photos for his critique. At a second meeting on May 18th from 1:00 - 3:00 PM, Gerry will go over tips and techniques for better photos, based on all the photos sent to him.
There is a limit of 20 students for this program. Please sign up at Library Information Desk or call (925) 803-7275. For further questions, contact Eugene Marangoni at (925) 803-7286. Be sure to bring along your own camera!

Join us for this rare opportunity to hear traditional Portuguese Fado music performed by one of the country's premier ensembles. Ramana Vieira has been described as "The New Voice of Portuguese World Music." Born in San Leandro to Portuguese immigrant parents, she has achieved international acclaim. Her music has been featured in Olympics opening ceremonies and she has performed at the Grammy Awards Ceremony honoring Aretha Franklin.
The Ensemble Fado typically includes guitar, percussion and a cello and combines haunting traditional ballads and those with a modern spin.
This performance will be held in the Dublin Library Community Room.

Knit One, Purl Two
| |
Make new friends at Knit One Purl Two, Dublin Library's monthly knitting circle. Our group welcomes adult knitters of all levels. Bring your current project to show off and provide inspiration; or bring an abandoned or difficult project for advice. Beginning knitters should bring their own needles. There is usually a more experienced knitter available who can help you get started, however, this is not a knitting class. Contact: Pam Blades(925) 803-7273 pblades@aclibrary.org
