    Newark, at one time, had tall strands of tules and cattails that created a wetland that was full of life. It was home to many animals and birds. Children will create tule rope and explore the organisms that live in the mud flat (shells). Readings: Phoca the Traveling Harbor Seal, and Murder in the Mud.
