Saturday Family Stories at the Union City Library

The Interact Club of Logan High School presents a series of story hours for school-age children and families at the Union City Library. Every other Saturday through December 15, high school volunteer readers will welcome kids of all ages to enjoy stories and books from 1 - 2 p.m.
Find out how much fun books and reading can be! The program is free, and no registration is required. Drop in for fifteen minutes, or stay for the entire hour, it's up to you! .

Chess Club

Youth ages 8-14 are invited to join the Union City Library chess club. Beginners are welcome to have fun while learning about chess. For more information check with the librarian at the Information Desk during open Library hours. Chess club will be ongoing every Saturday afternoon from 3:30-5 PM. You will be learning from experienced chess players how to play and use strategy to beat your opponent.

Students in grades K-10 are invited to get help from volunteer tutors in the Union City Library after-school homework center. Help is available for all subject areas. The homework center is supvervised by an adult coordinator, and high school students volunteer as tutors for the younger students. Please come in with your child to meet the tutors. The center provides paper, pencils, and other basic supplies. Laptops are also available for student use. The Homework Center is open throughout the academic school year from September through May. It is closed on school holidays and County holidays.

No registration is required for this six-week series running November 27 - January 29. (No program December 25 or January 1 or 15) The Union City Library Preschool Story Time, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, is a fun introduction to books, fingerplays and stretches for our youngest Library patrons.
