Help is available for all subject areas. Homework Center is open Monday - Thursdays from late September through early June. Homework Center is supervised by an adult coordinator and the program allows high school students to earn Community Service Credit while helping other students.

Wednesdays 10:30-11:30 AM

Limited to the first 20 adult/child pairs.  Get a ticket at the Reference Desk when the library opens at 10 AM before the event.

 

The first half hour is a parent/child participation lap program, and the second half is a free play period when children can play and adults can visit, play, and observe.

 Fix your broken stuff!!

Bring your broken electronic , small appliances, computer, toy, etc.

for assessment, disassemble , and possible repair.

 Bring and fix your broken small electronics, appliances, bikes, and toys (or at least learn more about them) with the help of fixit coaches. A textile/clothing coach will also be available. We provide the workspace, tools, and coaches. This is an all-age do-it-together (D.I.T) repair event.

- Bring your broken item (carry-in only: no oversize items)
- Bring parts and tools that might be helpful (e.g. sewing supplies)
- Come ready to describe what’s wrong and what you’ve tried
- Come ready to learn and to share what you already know with others
WHO: All ages welcome: a family-friendly event: accompanied children are heartily invited! 
WHY: To make friends, learn and teach how to fix things, and have fun!

Toddler Storytime at Union City Library

for children ages birth to 3 and their adult caregiver

Wednesdays 10:30-11:30 AM

Limited to the first 20 adult/child pairs.  Get a ticket at the Reference Desk when the library opens at 10 AM before the event.

 

The first half hour is a parent/child participation lap program, and the second half is a free play period when children can play and adults can visit, play, and observe.

genres. Your writing can be memoirs, creative nonfiction, poetry, song lyrics, science fiction, plays,
essays - you name it - we just want to hear what you have written and support each other as we grow as writers.
