Winter Preschool Story Time at the Union City Library

Did you know that regular exposure to books and reading is one of the best ways to prepare your young child for reading and future success in school? A great way to introduce your 3 - 5 year-old child to the joy of reading is to bring them to Preschool Storytime at the Library!
No registration is required for this ten-week series running January 19 - March 23. The Union City Library Preschool Story Time, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, is a fun introduction to books, fingerplays
and stretches for our youngest Library patrons.

Baby Time at the Union City Library

Registration opens Monday, February 1, for a four-week series running February 3 - 24. The Union City Library Baby Time, from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m., is a fun introduction to books, songs
and games for our youngest Library patrons, and an opportunity for the parent to make new friends and socialize.
Space is limited to 20 adult/child pairs, one child from birth - 15 months per adult
as each child needs an adult lap to sit on. Attendance at all four meetings is highly recommended.

English/Mandarin Preschool Storytime

This popular English/Mandarin Preschool storytime is coming back to the Union City Library again. It is designed to let the 3 - 5 years old children whose native language is Mandarin but like to get familiar with English, or vice versa.
Stories, fingerplays and some body movements are included in these 30 minutes fun filled sessions runs from January 6th through February 24th for 8 weeks on every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Union City Library meeting room.
No registration is required. Just drop in to have some fun, and learn some English and Chinese at the same time.

Family Board Games

Kids ages 5-12 are invited to Union City Library for a fun afternoon playing classic board games like Scrabble, chess, Trivial Pursuit or Go to the Head of the Class.Younger children can enjoy games like Candyland or Cootie. Teen volunteers are also needed to help the children learn how to play. Parents are also welcome to join the fun.

The Interact Club at Logan High School presents a series of story hours for school-age children and families at the Union City Library. Starting Saturday, January 23 and running every other week through April 17 high school volunteer readers will welcome kids of all ages to enjoy stories and books from 1 - 2 p.m.
Find out how much fun books and reading can be! The program is free, and no registration is required. Drop in for fifteen minutes, or stay for the entire hour, it's up to you! .
