Exercise with the San Lorenzo/San Leandro Chapter of the No Excuse Moms! Enter through the Library's Community Room Doors and start your week of right - by sweating your cares away!

Who is a No Excuse Mom?
She’s a mom who makes no excuses for making her health a priority. She’s someone who prioritizes her health, her family’s health and understands the ripple effect their role plays in the health of their community. These moms chose to transform their lives by consciously deciding every day that their health was worth it. When they were tired they trained. When they were lost for time to exercise, they found the time. When they were busy, they purposefully planned and prepared their daily goals and meals to coincide with what they wanted out of life. Some work outside the home, some have multiple children, some dealt with depression and some are raising a family on their own. They are true examples of real every day women – whose fitness manifests in different sizes, shapes and ages. These women made No Excuses for not prioritizing the body that brought their babies into this world.

No Excuse Mom is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit program throughFitness without Borders. No Excuse Mom offers thousands of members online support and encouragement and boasts over 350 free workout groups in over 25 countries worldwide.

Local historian Steve Minniear will talk about the usual steps of tracking down and documenting your ancestors
and suggest a little extra effort.  He'll discuss how he uses online and library resources to take the basic facts
bout relatives and let your relatives take their places in history.  And he'll give you examples from his
urrent work on Private Bert Russell and his adventures in France during World War I.

Steve Minniear co-wrote Dublin and the Tri-Valley: The World War II Years and is finishing a book on Dublin’s history
which should be available next year.  Mr. Minniear advised on the new Dublin Camp Parks Military History Center,
served eight years on the City of Dublin Heritage and Cultural Arts Commission and is the President of
the Dublin Historical Preservation Association. He moved to Dublin in 1987 and he also loves the Dublin Library.

The Silk Road: Globalization in the Ancient World

Before jet planes and smartphones, merchants and pilgrims spent months traveling over perilous land and sea routes to carry

Accompany the travelers over high mountain passes and parched deserts on their voyages of discovery and exchange.

No Excuse Mom offers thousands of members online support and encouragement and boasts over 350 free workout groups in over 25 countries worldwide.

misc_none 2:00 PM  -  4:00 PM Readers' Round Table followed by Silent Reading Hour Remind Me about this Event Download Event Info Tell a Friend

Looking for something good to read? Welcome to Readers' Round Table, a monthly meeting for book lovers. Here's a chance to share a bit about the books you read and fill up your "to-be-read" list with recommendations by your peers.

Each month you'll get a short list of themed books for inspiration, but you are welcome to share whatever great book you have read, regardless of whether it fits the monthly theme. Not sure how to "book talk"? It's easy. Simply tell us a little about the book (characters, story, setting) and what you liked about it. Remember, be brief and don't give away the ending!

We're meant to be an informal, fun, and friendly setting. All types and categories of reading are welcome. No registration and no commitment required, just drop by and come share your latest book crush with us.

After the Round Table discussion from 2:00-3:00 pm, stick around from 3:00-4:00 pm for our Silent Reading Hour. Or you can come just for the Reading Hour, if you want. Sometimes it's hard to commit to making the time to read. Now you can schedule it and join others, too! Don't you deserve an hour of quiet, uninterrupted reading?

Looking for something good to read? Welcome to Readers' Round Table, a monthly meeting for book lovers. Here's a chance to share a bit about the books you read and fill up your "to-be-read" list with recommendations by your peers.

Each month you'll get a short list of themed books for inspiration. Choose a title to read and share the following month. You are welcome to share whatever great book you have read, regardless of whether it fits the monthly theme. Not sure how to "book talk"? It's easy. Simply tell us a little about the book (characters, story, setting) and who might enjoy it (mystery lovers, history buffs, etc.). Remember, don't give away the ending!

We're meant to be an informal, fun, and friendly setting. All types and categories of reading are welcome. No registration and no commitment required, just drop by and come share your latest book crush with us.

No Excuse Mom offers thousands of members online support and encouragement and boasts over 350 free workout groups in over 25 countries worldwide.

misc_none 2:00 PM  -  3:00 PM Readers' Round Table - a group for book lovers Remind Me about this Event Download Event Info Tell a Friend
