TriValley CoderDojo is a part of the larger CoderDojo global movement of free computer coding clubs for young people ages 8-17 years old. TriValley CoderDojo, or TriV for short, is based in Dublin but open to youth in the surrounding TriValley area and beyond. Monthly sessions are held on the first Wednesday of each month.  Meetings are in the Community Room at the Dublin Library.  The coding session begins at 6:00 pm and ends at 8:30 pm. Please arrive by 5:45 pm for set up so we can start promptly. Sessions are free, but tickets are required due to limited capacity.  Register at http://trivalley.coderdojosv.org/addmember.

Bring and fix your broken small electronics, appliances, and toys (or at least learn more about them) with the help of fixit coaches. A textile/clothing coach will also be available. We provide the workspace, tools, and coaches. This is an all-age do-it-together (D.I.T) repair event.

Registration is required. Sign up at the Information Desk, call (510) 284-0677 during library open hours, or email Barbara at btelford-ishida@aclibrary.org. Please mention what item(s) you hope to fix or let us know you want to be a coach and what your skills are.

We also need coaches! Jacks & Jills of all trades, tinkerers, and seamsters are invited to become fixit coaches; all you need is curiosity and a willingness to encourage & help others open up their broken stuff and try to fix it. Bringing some tools would also help. The library has sewing machines and supplies.

The Halloween Teen Lock-in is an After Hours event just for teens (12-18). We will have FOOD, a costume contest, a murder mystery to solve, and a zombie nerf battle!  

Teens are encouraged to come in costume and bring their own nerf guns, but these are not required to have a blast! A permission slip is required to attend. 

This program is for TEENS only! Ages 12-18

Teens are invited to learn about the new changes to the ACT and SAT and partake in a free ACT/SAT combo practice test administered by Kaplan Test & Prep Admissions at the Castro Valley Library, Saturday, November 12th from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm.

In celebration of National Test Day and in preparation for one of the most important test of their life, this 4.5 hour workshop will offer teens a glimpse into the new changes made to the ACT and SAT tests.  Participants will also be provided with test taking tips, strategies and a practice test in order to ready them for the real thing.
