Author Visit for Children--Meeting Room
| |
Author David Rottenberg brings his charming character Gwendolyn to the life with the help of real ballet dancers. He'll read Gwendolyn's story as the dancers perform, showing the audience the transformative powers of dance and the joy of dreams come true. Following the performance, kids are invited to a mini-movement lesson. There will be time for a photo session when the kids can have their picture taken with the dancers. The performance is recommended for children age 3-8 years old. David will sell and autograph copies of his books, Gwendolyn the Graceful Pig and Gwendolyn Goes Hollywood, after the program. Sponsored by the Acton Memorial Library Foundation.

If you are entering grade 6-8 in September, you can volunteer in the children's room this summer! You need to attend either this orientation meeting or one Thursday May 23 from 6-7 p.m. You don't need to sign-up for the meeting, but if you can't attend either meeting, you must make arrangements with a children's librarian to schedule another training session before June 3. You may register for your summer hours beginning June 3; bring the filled-out form with your preferred work times to the Children's Desk. Work 5 hours between Monday, June 24 and Saturday, August 17, working one hour at a time and no more than one hour a week.
