Stephen Collins, whose ‘Evening with Walt Whitman’ delighted a library audience last April, offers a unique, interactive performance on Robert Frost. It begins with a short introduction to the poet's life and continues with discussion of six of Frost’s most memorable poems. They are 'A Tuft of Flowers,' 'Mending Wall,' 'Birches,' 'After Apple Picking,' 'Acquainted with the Night,' and 'Desert Places.' For greatest enjoyment of the program, Collins recommends reading and reflecting on the poems beforehand. Most can be found online through the library’s website, actonmemoriallibrary.org. When artifacts from Japanese families sent to internment camps during World War II are uncovered in Seattle, Henry Lee embarks on a quest that leads to memories of growing up Chinese in a city rife with anti-Japanese sentiment.     This month's title is Sycamore Row by John Grisham. When wealthy Seth Hubbard hangs himself from a sycamore tree and leaves his fortune to his black maid, Jake Brigance once again finds himself embroiled in a fiercely controversial trial -- a trial that will expose old racial tensions and force Ford County to confront its tortured history. All are welcome; copies of the book will be available at the circulation desk in late May.
