Noted author Kate Klise will be in residence for the entire month of August and is offering four invaluable workshops. Come to these very special series with your writing projects, drafts, and ideas for input, guidance or a dollop of good old fashioned inspiration!

Kate is a resident of the Missouri Ozarks,and will be traveling a long way to offer these workshops to you - attend one or all sessions. They are free - but rich in content. She has written more than 25 children's books, including the bestselling 43 Old Cemetery Road series and  In the Bag, her first adult novel.

Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a Victor's Tour of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games, The Quarter Quell, and announces a competition that could change Panem forever.

 

Rated PG-13 for sequences of violent action, some frightening images, thematic elements,  suggestive situation and language.

Release your inner visual learner by using video to create a musical symphony! Did you know that you can play video like music? This series of workshops offers hands on experience with being a VJ, the art of real time visual performance. Have fun pushing buttons and jamming out with video. The class will introduce new software and provide training. This will lead up to composing and performing your first visual symphony. The class is for those with general computer skills and is a unique mix of creative arts and technology. This program is part of our STEAM (Science, Technology, Education, Arts & Math) programming series.

Jason Daniels is the Executive Director of Easton Community Access Television (ECAT).

This is a 6-week program running on July 15, 22, 29 & August 12, 19, 26. Registration required; please reserve your spot today!

We’ll be experimenting with EL Wire to make wearable EL Wire Art!

EL Wire is a flexible, glowing wire that is powered by small battery packs. Deck out your clothing, glasses, lunch box, messenger bags, hoodie, necktie, bike or ski helmet. It’s easy to use to spice up any outfit.

This program is a repeat of the earlier program, but geared towards an older crowd of teens and adults. Feel free to bring your own clothing or items to decorate.

Due to high demand, seating is limited to 15 attendees.

Presented by Rosemary Wiseman.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. During this presentation, Rosemary will talk about what Reiki is; its healing qualities, history, principles, and her experiences as a Reiki Master Teacher. Those who are interested will have the opportunity to experience the Reiki Healing Energy.

Rosemary Wiseman has been a Reiki Master Teacher for 10 years. As a Reiki Master Teacher, she not only sees clients who are seeking peace, balance, and healing in their lives, but she also teaches all levels of Reiki Healing. In addition, she uses the Reiki principles as a guide in her daily life.

John is a retired mechanical and manufacturing engineer and an Easton retiree who would like to give back to the community. So, on the last Wednesday morning of each month, he will be at the Learning Commons @ Queset House as the resident expert on all things automotive. Fixing cars has been a lifelong hobby for John and he will share the wealth of his expertise with you.

John is a retired mechanical and manufacturing engineer and an Easton retiree who would like to give back to the community. So, on the last Wednesday morning of each month, he will be at the Learning Commons @ Queset House as the resident expert on all things automotive. Fixing cars has been a lifelong hobby for John and he will share the wealth of his expertise with you.
