If you are unfamiliar with Red Tomato (www.redtomato.org), it is a unique non-profit organization with a not so easy goal: help our region's farmers bring their fresh, sustainably-grown produce to the local grocery store at a fair price.

The Foodie Group is delighted to present Laura Edwards-Orr, Director of Resource Development at Red Tomato in Plainville, to talk about the organization and sustainability issues. Laura began family farm activism at Farm Aid where she managed a national farm crisis hotline, developed a web-based platform to connect thriving farmers with farmers in need, and penned a monthly consumer advice column “Ask Laura.”
