Grades 9 - 12, eighteen plus, and adults as well - are all welcome to join the workshop.

This is a workshop to educate students on how to recognize the difference between caring, supportive relation­ships and controlling, manipulative, or abusive dating relationships. Through group interaction, role play and discussion, students will learn the causes and con­sequences of dating abuse and skills to develop healthy relationships through effective communication.

You will also receive Community Service credit hours for participating in this workshop.

BUS TRIP IS SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 LEAVING AT 8:30AM AND RETURNING AT APPROXIMATELY 6:00PM.

Join us for a luncheon Matinee to see the hilarious Neil Simon comedy Come Blow Your Horn.

Alan Baker lives in a bachelor's paradise in the "Mad Men" era of the early 1960s. He works for his father only two days a week, and spends the other five with a different girl every day. The trouble begins when his ever-obedient brother, Buddy, moves in and attempts to imitate Alan's playboy lifestyle. The hilarity builds when their father discovers that Mom has sided with her boys.

We're heading to Pennsylvania for the day to see the spectacular production of Jonah at the Sight and Sound Theatre.

We will have lunch at Shady Maple Smorgasbord. All tips and gratuities included.

Literacy Nassau is partnering with the Baldwin Public Library to offer ESOL classes for free. Literacy Nassau provides programs that address the different literacy needs of adults living in Nassau County.

FREE REGISTRATION IS ON MONDAY, JULY 10 FROM 4:00 TO 8:00PM.

BRING PHOTO ID. PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 7:00PM.

Registration includes an assessment of your literacy skills to determine what class you should sign up for and takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.

CLASS SCHEDULE:

Beginner Classes: Evening classes begin the week of July 17 and run for 10 weeks.

Intermediate Classes: Evening classes begin the week of July 17 and run for 10 weeks (meets once a week).

Begin this Connecticut adventure with a hot three-course lunch (choice of beef tips, baked chicken (no bones) or the penne pasta with grilled vegetables) prepared and cooked on a 1920s restored Pullman dining car on the Essex Steam Train. After lunch, enjoy the cool breezes on the riverboat excursion down the scenic Connecticut River. Once we get off the train, we will drive up to Gillette Castle where you will be able to tour this unique historic home with secret doors and passages. This is a shared trip with West Hempstead Public Library.

We're heading to Pennsylvania for the day to see the spectacular production of Jonah at the Sight and Sound Theatre.

We will have lunch at Shady Maple Smorgasbord. All tips and gratuities included.  

This is a shared trip with West Hempstead Public Library and Oceanside Library.
