Contact: Library Reference Desk   789-2661   refdesk@bel-tib-lib.org

Reception: Tuesday, July 1, 6-8pm
Exhibit July 1- August 1  in the Founders Room

Roberta Keiler is a California native.  She moved to Mill Valley in 1956, and has lived in the same home ever since. After raising four children and serving on numerous community Boards and committees, she retired twenty years ago from her volunteer work to devote her time and talent to her interest in watercolor painting. Roberta is a lifelong learner. Her passion for art was piqued at Stanford, where she graduated with a degree in Social Sciences.  Over the years, she has attended many workshops from noted artists including Jerry Brommer, Ann O'Hanlon, Cathe Gill, Catherine Anderson, and Toph Schink.  Her primary painting instructor has been Jerry Stitt.

She is inspired by the beauty of this area's natural surroundings, her friends and family, her garden and the amazing gift of a full and rich life.

Join us for our monthly drop-in volunteer workday as we focus on restoring the grasslands of Ring Mountain! Ring Mountain is home to numerous rare and endangered plant species, but this habitat is being threatened by invasive species. Volunteer work may include weeding, seed collecting, tarping, fence construction, and/or installing native plants. Educational components are included as we discuss the plants and animals that inhabit this unique place and explain how volunteer activities are having a positive impact. Work is mildly strenuous and usually requires a short hike to the site. Drop-in days are held on the last Saturday of every month (except November and December) from 10am to 1pm. Dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water. Questions: Contact Ring Mountain Stewardship Coordinator Sarah Minnick at (415) 473-5058 or SMinnick@marincounty.org.
