Following the success of last year's show, Art by the Bay is returning to Tiburon for a month-long display of outdoor public artwork.  Eight large sculptures will be placed on Shoreline Park near the ferry plaza, one will be located near the library, and one will be near Blackie's Pasture.

Featuring five internationally known artists, Art by the Bay will run from October 16 to November 16.  The installation is called "Ornamenting Landscape" and its mission is to enhance the local beauty and topography of Tiburon.  The Drever Family Foundation is once again underwriting the event.

Visit the Art by the Bay website to find out more about the viewing locations, the artists and their work.

An exciting new event is coming to our downtown businesses, from Main Street to Ark Row (and beyond).  Over 30 critically-acclaimed artists will display their work in over 28 locations, and each of their paintings has been thoughtfully paired with a Tiburon shop or business (also Town Hall and the Library).

Tiburon Art Walk will run in conjunction with Art by the Bay (see more on this below), from October 16 through November 16.

At the opening night "launch party" on October 16, come meet the Tiburon Art Walk artists and find out where you can view their work.  This special evening will give you the opportunity to mingle with the artists as the "progressive" party takes over downtown Tiburon, with most venues hosting a reception for their featured artist.

For a complete list of participating artists and locations, visit the Art Walk page on the Chamber of Commerce's website.

Old St. Hilary’s Open Space Preserve has a friend in the Broom Buster team, a loyal group of volunteers who have worked together to remove French broom on the preserve for over 15 years. In that time, incredible progress has been made to suppress the broom regrowth and allow native species to recover and thrive. Come learn about the importance of invasive species removal and lend a hand! Volunteer work involves bending, pulling, and kneeling. Dress in layers you can get dirty, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water.

Buzz on By the Bay to the Gardeners Work Party for Pollinators!

The California Native Plant Society Marin Chapter (CNPS) is partnering with Richardson Bay Audubon (RBACS) to improve native pollinator habitat and create demonstration gardens the general public can replicate at home.

If you are looking for a good excuse to get your hands dirty and benefit the Center, Marin CNPS is working hard to improve our native demonstration pollinator gardens. Join CNPS and RBACS for regular monthly workdays on the first Thursday of the month at 10 am to help prepare the site for fall planting. Bring gloves, hat, sunscreen, any favorite gardening hand tools (although we do have some we can loan!) and a picnic lunch. Rain does cancel.

RSVPs appreciated but not required.

For more information contact Renee Fittinghoff with CNPS reneef94941@gmail.com or

anim_horse 9:00 AM  -  1:00 PM Pizza Party on Horse Hill     Tell a Friend
    Contact: Greg Reza   415-473-3778   Greza@marincounty.org

Meet at the entrance gate across from address 49 Lomita Dr, near the intersection of Lomita Dr.and Greenfield Ct.

We are hosting a broom-busting pizza party and raffle on Horse Hill with The Alto Bowl Horseowners Association. Over the past 16 years we have pushed back invasive French and Scotch broom on this Open Space preserve. Now we need your help to make a final push into the broom frontier on the western part of the preserve. The work site is located approximately ¼-mile up, toward the top of the hill. We will pull broom and sow native grass seed. The work requires considerable strength and stamina but it is possible for volunteers as young as 5 years old to join if teamed with a parent or guardian. Some members of association will talk about their horses living on the preserve. Participants will get a chance to meet the horses up close.
