misc_none 6:00 PM  -  7:30 PM Introduction to OpenSCAD for adults Remind Me about this Event   Tell a Friend

In this class students will learn about OpenSCAD software for creating solid 3D CAD objects. OpenSCAD is a free software and available for Linux/UNIX, MS Windows and Mac OS X.

It isn't like the usual 3D modelling program.  With OpenSCAD you describe the model you are making with math. Combining circles, spheres, cylinders and other 3D shapes in powerful ways you can make almost anything you can imagine. While you are building your "program" which builds your model you can watch it happen on the screen.

The best part is that in order to learn this program no knowledge of computer programming is required. And while math can be useful in OpenSCAD, it is also not required. If you know what a cylinder, sphere, and cube are then you know all you need to get started.

Registration required and limited to 9.

by A. R. Gurney

A Two-Person Play, Presented by Rose Graziano and Jay Krass

LOVE LETTERS is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.

LOVE LETTERS was presented at The Long Wharf Theatre, November 4, 1988-December 11, 1988; M. Edgar Rosenblum, Executive Director; Arvin Brown, Artistic Director.

Love Letters is a tribute to a lifelong love affair and is a perfect way to celebrate love, laughter, joy and longing. The play is about the relationship between two people and is told through a series of letters written over a lifetime. The letters take them through the discoveries of childhood, the disappointments of adolescence, the awkwardness of first sex, the intoxication of ambition, acceptance of unfulfilled dreams and the belated understanding that there is no tomorrow. The story is told by two actors reading the letters.

This play was first performed at New Haven’s Long Wharf Theater in 1988, and has had many revivals, featuring actors including Kathleen Turner, George Grizzard, Philip Bosco, Julie Harris, Anthony Heald, Richard Kiley, Dana Ivey, William Hurt, Christopher Reeve, George Segal, Robert Vaughn, Timothy Hutton, Elizabeth Taylor, James Earl Jones and more.

Registration required and begins September 1.
