Book discussions of the 2011 Nutmeg Children's Book Nominees. Today's featured book is The Lemonage War by Jacqueline Davies. The Library celebrates PT Barnum's 200th birthday with a day of fun activites which include making circus crafts . Prizes and stickers for all who attend.

Ukuleles are enjoying a revival, with many festivals and concerts popping up all over. We're pleased to present a popular duo on the ukulele circuit to perform at the Library!

Yes, ukuleles are small, but our featured ukulele duet, the EduKated Fleas (Greg Doyle and Wendy Matthews), play the big hits--favoring swing and vintage tunes-–as well as a few things you might not expect to hear on uke. Come on in for some toe-tapping music...you'll also learn a bit of history!

This is a FREE program for all ages (kids, ages 11 and up, are welcome)!

This morning's selection is The Year of Living Biblically by A. J. Jacobs.

Subtitled “One Man's Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible,” this is an insightful and hilarious journey for readers of all faiths.

Dolly Parton's "Imagination Library" sponsored by the United Way of Western Connecticut and the Bethel Public Lilbrary is coming to Bethel this Fall. "Imagination Library" is a Pre-School literacy program that provides all children from birth to 4 years old with a new, free, age-appropriate book each month. All Bethel child-care and pre-schools will be sent information about the program. All Bethel children under 4 years old will be eligible to register for this award winning program.
