Join this informal play and learn setting as DuPage Children's Museum brings their interactive portable exhibits to BPL. Children and caregivers enjoy the museum's portable exhibits and learn hands-on STEM projects that can be done at home.  In addition, community support resources wil be provided.  Registration is required and begins on Monday, February 6.

Genealogy Club meets on the fourth Thursday of the month - except in December - from 6:30 p.m. - 8:45 p.m. Local History Librarians provide internet and archival genealogy instruction and research support. Members share ideas and meet other researchers, receive help with research questions and brick wall dilemmas, and share genealogy finds. Use of the genealogy collection in the Local History Department and individual help and instruction is also available.

A representative from C2 Education will provide a proctored practice test and contact you with scores and analyzed results.

Don't forget to bring a couple of pencils, your calculator, and a snack to eat!

Outside of Warsaw, Chicago has the world's largest Polish population, but for the descendants of those immigrants, much of that culture has been lost, mingled with others, or it persists in the staunchest ways. Learn about the challenges of Polish immigration from the early 1800's to the present and discover the various centers of Polish and Polish-American culture and traditions. Join us for a multimedia presentation by former teacher and author Donna Urbikas, who emigrated to Chicago as a child and grew up in the Polish community of the 1950's and 60's, as highlighted in her recent memoir, My Sister's Mother: A Memoir of War, Exile, and Stalin's Siberia.
